Soap & Ceramic Soap Dish Workshop

Overview

Like making your own pasta or mending your own clothes, soap making is surprisingly approachable, but getting started on your own can feel daunting.

With guidance from master soap maker Ryan Bissoon, you’ll learn the process step by step and gain the knowledge you need to continue making soap at home.

During the first half of this two-hour workshop, Ryan will guide you through making five bars of soap. In the second half, you’ll switch to pottery and use handbuilding techniques to create five ceramic soap dishes to accompany your soaps.

Handmade soap paired with a handmade ceramic dish makes a particularly meaningful present. Keep the sets for yourself or give them to friends, family, hosts, teachers or anyone who would appreciate something made by hand.

No previous soap-making or pottery experience is required. Beginners are welcome!
