Fall Classes

Our hands-on classes welcome all skill levels, from beginners to more advanced ceramicists. Choose from flexible schedules including morning, evening, and weekend sessions. Adult classes run 7/8 weeks with 3-hour sessions.

Class Schedule (Fall 2026)

Adult Classes

At Clay Space, our adult classes cover hand building, wheel throwing, sculpture, and glazing. Beginners follow a structured path to build strong fundamentals, while advanced students enjoy more freedom to pursue self-directed projects—whether that’s functional pieces, sculptures, or design exploration.

  • Weekly 3-hour classes
  • Sessions run for 7/8 Weeks for September to December.
  • Open to all skill levels—from beginners to advanced.
  • Class prices include all materials and firing service.

Our approach balances structure with flexibility. You’ll learn key techniques through guided projects, but ultimately we encourage you to make what you’re most excited about.

  • Pottery is a skill that develops over time

  • Results vary based on practice, attendance, and experimentation

  • Finished pieces require patience — drying and firing take time

Pottery is a rewarding practice, but it’s not instant gratification. Our classes are best suited for those who:

  • Enjoy learning through doing

  • Are open to trial and error

  • Value process as much as finished results

 Worry not, you ARE on the list.  We don’t send out a confirmation e-mail once you’ve submitted the form.  

3 hours for adult classes and 2 hours for kids classes. 

Weekly

Students are allowed to miss a maximum of 2 classes for which they can schedule make up classes.  That said the volume of students missing classes and scheduling make ups creates a lot of chaos.  We strongly encourage students not to miss as they reduce the quality of the experience at the studio for all.  Our 2 make up class policy is up for review this year.
 
Unfortunately not but a credit with the studio can be issued which can be transfer to a friend or be used at the Clay Space shop.  
 
Yes, there is street parking on Gerrard St. which is free after 6pm.  
 
 You will have been given an introduction into hand building, the pottery wheel and glazing.  You will have learned enough to work an independent ceramic project. 
 

We have a limited number of Open Studio memberships spots which are available right now.  If you have pottery experience, can work independently and are interested in becoming a member please contact us.

Unfortunately we do not anymore.  When the studio opened it was in the middle of a lockdown and we did rent out our kilns.  Now our studio is too busy and cannot handle outside work.  

the studio is wheel chair accessible and has a ground floor bathroom.  We strive to make the studio completely accessible and are constantly making adjust menus to accommodate customers of all abilities.
